Noord Amsterrdam - What I Saw Today, On A Dutch Sunny Eve

The bloody dutch police (bless their busy souls) have convicted me of riding my skateboard in the city, confiscated it from me, and then charged me $500AUD to get it back. So I have been forced to find alternate pastures.

I’ve been skating around the north of Amsterdam on racetrack bike tracks looking for images. With a rule today for no post processing other than cropping and keystone correction.

Its funny. When I take the photos I viscerally HATE my work, and think its worthless. I think its a waste of my time. I feel hopeless and worthless when shooting, its a really distinct negative emotion.

But then, when i get them into the computer, they’re beautiful.

It’s a Hasselblad. Images of a clean, safe, sunny, beautiful world. These images are nothing that special. But the culmination of the experience. Skating, shooting, listening to music, being free, and delightment in exploring.

That’s fucking special.
